Hello Friends! And welcome home to me!

It's Mickey Mouse!

It’s Mickey Mouse!

Last week my family and I, along with Will’s parents, had the exciting pleasure of going on a Disney Cruise!!! It was incredible. The ship (Disney’s Fantasy – the newest ship) was beautiful (and CLEAN! – I was seriously impressed as to how spotless everything was all the time); the crew, staff and “cast members” were all amazing (especially with the kids – making them laugh and feel right at home as part of the family); the food was delectable (and way too much of it, including dessert every night and free ice cream by the pool whenever we wanted – which I didn’t need, but I indulged anyway); the ocean was blue, the skies were sunny, the pools were refreshing (Will and I got to sneak away from the kids a few times and hang out in the adult-only areas); and the Oceaneer Club (Disney’s day camp for the kids) was a win-win for all of us (the boys loved playing there and it gave Will and I a much needed respite). I know there’s way more to brag about than I’m writing here, but I just can’t list it all.

We left from Port Canaveral last Saturday and from there we spent two fun-filled days at sea. Tuesday we were in St Maarten, admiring the crystal clear turquoise waters and a bus and boat island tour, complete with a glass bottom area where we could watch the fish swim right next to us.

Wednesday we enjoyed St Thomas. Most of the day the boys were in the Oceaneer Club while Will and I did the Tree Limin Extreme Zip Line Tour (A-maaaazing fun and stunning views, and seriously when they say they are the “Ritz Carlton of Zip Line Tours” they mean it – top notch!). We did get the boys off the ship later in the afternoon so they could run around a bit outside with us and experience a little of the island, although there was a lot of “I want ice cream” going on (pretty much the theme for Brayden the entire week).

Thursday was another semi-relaxing day at sea. We swam with the boys in the morning and through lunch, then dropped them back at the club so Will and I could enjoy some more adult quiet time. Those pina coladas were GOOD!

Friday we awoke to fog outside as we slowly moved through calm waters en route to Disney’s private island, Castaway Cay. This was actually the first morning I got to enjoy my coffee outside on our adjoining verandah with Will’s parents, as we still had about an hour before we could disembark for a fun day at the beach. By far the best island for relaxing

and playing with the kids, we all enjoyed the refreshing water (as fish swam right by our feet, not afraid of anything), took a little bike ride around the island, indulged in yet another ice cream cone after lunch, and even got a little snorkeling in (and we are so proud of Zackery for trying it – good job!). 4:45pm and we were all back on board, sailing away to head back to Port Canaveral the next morning.

We got home late Saturday night, and spent yesterday doing countless loads of laundry and celebrating Zackery’s 6th Birthday (Happy Birthday Zack – I can’t believe you are already six!!!). It was a good feeling to be home again, but I do miss Disney already. Thankfully, I have a few hundred pictures (no joke!) to bring me back to our memories. I’ll admit, I tried to “be present” as much as I could, but come on, it’s Disney!

So now it’s back to reality, back to school, making dinner (which I actually didn’t mind doing yesterday – a special brithday request dinner of steak and mushrooms), errands, homework and everything else “life.” I’m hoping this rocking feeling will go away soon. It’s not so much making me feel sick as it is making me want to be back on that ship! Ahoy!
