Ever wonder what silly habits your children will wind up with? Or what they will see you doing, as parents, and try to copy it? Thankfully, I can honestly say that neither of my boys have picked up on any of my bad habits. Perhaps that’s because I don’t really have any (um… no, really…), but more probable is that I’ve been lucky enough for them not to catch me in the act!

Brayden is still young enough that he doesn’t always understand what is said or going on around him. Zackery, however, is quite the little man – eyes and ears wide open (in selective situations, as with any other 3-1/2 year old, of course), and he keeps us all on our toes (which is a good thing). The thing we have to watch out the most with Zack is our language. He has repeated a couple “inappropriate” phrases. And I say “inappropriate” because for a little boy – not something you want to hear come out of his mouth, in any circumstance; but for an adult, oh it was nothing BUT the most appropriate verbal expression given the situation. J

Now Brayden on the other hand is at the stage where he is learning to mimic everything I do. And I find it the cutest thing ever (except for the rolls and rolls of chubby baby fat all over his body – THAT by far is THE cutest thing ever, not that I’m biased or anything…)! His latest gesture is to imitate me saying “uh oh” and shrugging my hands up as if to say “what happened?” after he drops something (and now sometimes purposefully throws…), be it a toy, food, whatever. He doesn’t quite have the words down; he’s still a babbly baby, but those chunky little hands, each with 5 pudgy little fingers, palms up and open, and the proudest 2-tooth smile one has ever seen – I’d say he’s got that down!

It’s fun to see my boys growing up (it really does fly by so fast!), and watching them learn all kinds of new things. They are so impressionable in this phase of their life. I’m just happy I get to be the one who helps shape their little minds. It makes me a very proud Mommy when I see just how proud they are!
